Finding His Way Home: Solomon's Story

In 2019, we met Solomon during one of our Wednesday weekly meet-ups. Like many young people we encounter, he had left home because financial constraints made school fees impossible, and the streets seemed to promise the freedom he desperately craved.

What Solomon didn't realize was that true freedom comes not from running away, but from having the tools and support to build the future you want.

The Transformation Begins

During our weekly sessions, Solomon became a consistent participant. His sharp intelligence shone through puzzle exercises and group discussions. Week after week, we watched him grow not just intellectually, but emotionally.

The anger and frustration that had driven him to the streets began to transform into something more powerful: hope.

The Breakthrough

The turning point came when we facilitated a conversation between Solomon and his mother. Through patient mediation and honest dialogue, we helped them understand each other's perspectives and pain.

The reconciliation was beautiful to witness—a mother and son rediscovering their bond and learning to communicate with love and understanding.

Home Again

Today, Solomon is back home where he belongs. He returned to school with renewed purpose and successfully completed his WAEC exams. His story reminds us that sometimes, young people don't need to be rescued from their families—they need help healing the relationships that matter most.
